I went back to the same pond I fished earlier in the week to harvest some of those nice bluegills and pumpkinseeds I got in to the other night. Well, joke's on me 'cause that were playing hide and seek and they pretty much got the best of me. Had lines in the water just after 8am and called it a day at 11:20 with the wind building a bit.
Beautiful morning, air temp at 52, water 71-72, calm conditions under a clear sky. Started off with a dinky perch that got tossed back and that would be it for nearly an hour. I had on the same lure that did so well and a couple of others that have proven effective there but no one lure stood out today. I tossed the whole box at them, only scoring here and there. I did not get blanked but sure didn't fill the cooler like I'd hoped to. What I did catch were quality fish and we have enough for one meal for the 3 of us.
The only crappie of the trip came on the troll over the basin.
Total for the trip would be 10 fish. Throwbacks were an average bass, the dink perch and a barely legal pickerel. 3 perch, 3 'gills and the crappie came home with me.
Fun was had, dinner was secured, fishing itch was scratched; I'll take it.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.S10CHEVY LIKED above post
