While WC870 was putting a beat down on the crappie with his buddy, I was having fun with the bedding 'gills but coming up empty on the crappie side of the ledger.
I had lines in the water about 4:40, 73 for the air temperature, 67 water temp, breeze would vary from the SE to SW throughout the night. Not too strong but annoying as always. I went right to the edge where I'd found the bedding 'gills on the last trip and the action started. While not a great picture (I was too lazy to hit the screen shot button), this is typical of the beds I found tonight. Bigger fish were on them, too.

I'd work that shoreline for a while with lots of action. I could have filled the cooler if I'd brought one but it was a C & R trip. I soon moved off in search of some crappie but they'd elude me tonight. I'd both troll and single pole but bluegill, perch and bass would supply my action tonight, along with 2 small pickerel of about 10" from the weed beds in shallow water. Most of my single poling was with the Percy colored Crappie Magnet and it scored most of the 'gills. Total count for the night would be 28.

Fun was had and I called it a night at 7:25. I'm hoping to get in at least one more trip this weekend before it's back to the work grind on Monday.
