I had been neglecting this particular body of water for most of the spring. So i went to check it out Friday afternoon. I hit about 20 spots looking to see if the boys were committed to the short water. Not many to be had. All of the spots i hit are sure fire bets when they do commit. Only a few held fish,and they were super aggressive. Backed off and tried to fish some deeper water. That was a difficult proposition because of the wind. I caught a few,but keeping the jig how they wanted was almost impossible in the wind. The water was still pretty cool. I suspect in the coming days more males will commit to the short water. This lake is running about three weeks behind from where it usually is this time of year. Yall get out there and be safe.
