Was great meeting you and your son also. Kind of caught me off guard when you asked if that was the boat from the forum. haha. Small world. Went out again this morning, only caught three before the weather started turning around. I am thinking the South wind had something to do with it also. The lake was calm, almost glass under the bridge. The 3 we caught were all around 15 inches. Would have liked to have about 25 of them.Quote:

OK, not going to give the exact pole numbers as to make sure nobody is in my spot, but over the past week I have caught well over 120 crappie on lake Palestine. I am under the 155 bridge. I have used both live minnows (my fav) but also purple jigs. For Jigs I tie to pretty heavy weights on, then a leader about 8 inches for the jig. I troll around all of the poles and pull them out. The reason for the two weights is that it has to get down to about 12-14 feet where they are, but you also have to be moving and with just a jig, it will rise. The other day the water was glass so I had my trolling motor set to about 50%. Just troll right by them, they will reach out and you will know when you have one. Unlike dropping the line down and moving it up and down, you are covering a lot of space. If you get a hit, I make another pass and keep doing that until I have no hits. I will move to the next set of poles, work down and then turn around and do those same poles again. Yesterday I limited out in just over an hour, went to shore picked up a friend and his wife, broght them back out to the same set of poles and almost limited them out.
