some of you know and some don't but to be sure when they sound the horn on the spillway you got 20 minutes to get out of the area .
case in point ,the other day they sounded the horn and most of the herd of creek boats turned and left the area .
the spillway area is a popular spot in the winter for lots of fish and folks trying to ketch them .
2 guys in a john boat didn't leave when the horn sounded and one came out alive and the other didn't !
they found the boat about a mile downstream …..those 2 guys have been up in that area a bunch of times in the past and should have known better ,but when the fish are biting its easy to want to stay .
so boaters beware and keep in mind even a little creek can get really ugly if they turn on the water flow above it at the spillway .
and in closing my condolences to the families and friends of the man who didn't make it out .
p.s. one of our crappie.com members was in there the day it happened in a kayak and left just prior to this tragic event .
