So MCM tackle out of camp texas sent me some bluegill handties and some crappie jigs to test . I was supposed to be after bluegill mostly but I really like to jig for crappie . so I ketched me one bluegill on one of the crickets in white and a crappie and went on to jigging for crappie with his crappie jigs .
Was giving them some juice once in while and got bit pretty good before work for an hour and at lunch break for 30 minutes or so .
I also gave some young man a new addiction in that he was all questions about me jerking them crappie , so I rigged him up with a bait and tuned him up with how and he missed a hundred takes ,but by GOLLY he finally ketched him one and it was ON after that
I left him at 9 am and when I returned at lunch time he was on another dock still jigging !
I was surprised to see him patiently jigging at lunch time and still getting bites at high noon ! I am pretty sure he is now addicted to the fine art of dock jigging for sure . Heck he even still had the same jig on I gave him 3 hours later ....
Anyway as the state park goes nothing of great importance to mention other than tons of small crappie around all the docks .
bites were pretty hard as well and most hit it on the run I swear . not many keepers in the mix .
then there was the guy who was chatting it up with me and says he got some lady all upset when he was throwing a cast net for bait in the park around the fishing dock . I said well sir it is against the regulations in the park and its a steep fine if you get caught ....he said yeah I know....
then he says he was throwing his lil cast net at weatherford on the fishing dock and ketched crappie in it by accident . I said well sir you know its also against the rules to throw a cast net at that dock as well right ? he said yeah I know...
the interesting people you meet when you hit the water is endless ....
hope you enjoy the photos and read
p.s. yes I also pitched some tandem plastic mini tadpoles at lunch time
