Conroe Report

Went to Conroe last night and this morning. Fished all night from 8 pm until 11 this morning. Winds were calm with gusts up to 5 mph but still good for most of the night and morning. The fish were biting all night. I landed 8 cats, 10 white bass, and at least 20 crappie. I only kept one crappie at 13". Let the others go back to grow bigger. Don't really eat bass and I have lots of cats in the freezer so this was a nice outing at night. No rain thankfully. No one else on lake but a few bank fishermen. I had the lake to myself! The crappie were biting dark colored jigs and minnows and the bass and cats caught on live shad netted from lights off boat! Great night and morning. Cool temps. Gonna sleep good tonight.
On another note, I wanted to go to Somerville but the water is 7' high. The crappie and bass are too finicky when the water is that high so that is why I opted for Conroe. Glad I did.

At least you got something to tug on your string and that makes it good! Nice crappie for sure!
