went to sam rayburn this am. launched at casels boykin. headed to the bridge to catch some crappie....even had minnows with me. rounded the point heading for the bridge and the closer i got the rougher is was,,,,,ended up turning around due to 2-3' rollers and bad waves. tthought i was in an episode of deadliest catch. couldnt see over some of the waves rolling up the lake. went back to a couple of coves to try our luck.....trolling motor had no power....checked batteries that morning and onboard charger said all were charged. checked batteries and they are no good. hell there only 4 years old. guess they just dont build them like they used to. the wind was building the whole time also.......loaded up and went to the picket house for lunch.
I don't blame you Chuck, that wind is no fun for me. Especially with those big rollers.

Well I hope it changes by the weekend , thought about coming up early Saturday morning, better cross my fingers!
Usually on regular batteries your lucky to get 2 years out of them on a TM and for sure lucky to get 3 years! I bought the high end last time and so far so good and think it's been 6 years on the 2 TM batteries and still doing great!

I understand, but for me I just got tired of having them dead sooner than later so back 6 years ago or maybe 7 I bought these Optima batteries and still going strong. I am super happy and worth the extra bucks just to keep me from having to change them out since I am not suppose to lift more than 20 pounds. So for me getting 3 or more times as much time out of these has bee more than worth the cost for me. Plus don't forget they got abused a few years back when my boat was stranded in it's slings for 1 1/2 years and I let them go dead as all get out and went through 2 winters, but still popped right back and off again. I would sure buy the same ones again! I even changed my starting battery to the same as I have on my TM so now happy camper! I do believe they have a customer here that will never change again.
