Default Shore fishing in Austin area

I live in northwest Louisiana and have a young grandson who lives in Austin, TX. He really likes to fish for bream and wants me to take him fishing the next time we come to Austin. I am looking for someplace that I can take him to bream fish from the shore. Size really does not matter to him. Also, can you recommend a place where we can buy some crickets? If anyone could offer some suggestions it would be appreciated.

Fox or Taylor Park at Granger Lake, Brushy Creek Park Lake. Fox park has pier. Taylor has two nice coves. Brushy Creak is great family place. Would try Brushy Creak first. Jenson Fishing Tackle at Parmer and MoPac.

Plenty of park area around Lady Bird Lake and the Lower Colorado River. Area off I35 near downtown. Pet stores have crickets. Try Petco or PetSmart.

We've always had pretty good luck at Granger Lake, but I'm not sure what the water level is right now, it's been low the past couple of years so when you find them they're usually gonna be stacked up, Good luck to you though!
