Not one single crappie was caught on the dock this morning. I got to the fishing dock about 5:30 after picking up an extra dozen medium minnows (already had a dozen large at the dock in the bucket). One older gentleman that was already there had been there since 2am and was nailing the white bass. He had a basket full of nice fat ones. As soon as I got my gear sat down I dropped in a line with a minnow on it. Within 2 minutes I had 12" white. 2 minutes later, I had another white. I jigged for about 2 hours, trying different colors and sizes. Nothing was wanting the jigs. After all was said and done, I had 2 really nice white bass and fat catfish. I gave the 3 fish to a family fishing on the other side of the dock.
All in all, it was nice to be out in the "cold" Texas weather for a change.
