    Default Toledo Bend Trip

    Hey guy's,

I am planning a 7-10 day trip to Toledo Bend next year and I had a few questions?

When is the best time to hit the spawn (Never exact I know)?

Is the North or South end of the lake better?

Any good resorts or lodges to stay at?

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

There are several things to think about. I know a crappie guide that has a lodge more on the North end than I am. The fishing up there is a bit different and I don't know a lot about it since I never have fished North. South there is a lot more water and I would probably say look more down here. There are several places to stay and I would look around either Pendleton Bridge or near me which there is a place about 5 miles down the road from me and it's pretty good place to stay and probably pn some of the best water on T-Bend! It would be Fin & Feather Resort, but let me check to see if it's open as I know it was up for sale. I had a friend that has stayed there a few time over the last few years and liked it a lot. I use to stay there before I lived here.

I can also get you the name of several places and phone numbers, will get back soon.

Just called and they are open and I have their phone number that I will put here, but will also look for info over around the bridge area as I know there are some nice places over there too. Oh and I for got to tell you the best time to take a shot on the spawn. I think it usually starts later Feb and would guess (depends a lot on how cold it is for how long though) Early March would be best. This year was so mild that the best was probably in Feb, but March was also good.

Here you go, lots of places to choose from, but some probably not what you want. I think that Cypress Bend place is probably nice over on the Louisiana side, but you can come more South easy, but I still think the best water on the lake is Housen where Fin & Feather is. There are more places to eat on the La. side and it's a bit more remote at Fin & Feather, but the best fishing is worth driving to eat for me. Now I wouldn't stay all the way South as that end of the lake is just too deep for the most part, but has some places to fish, but once up around ^ Mile where i live and Housen your at some great water. Also Fin & Feather did work on their ramp when the lake was down so they probably have water to put your boat in as low as any place on the lake.

Anyway here are 2 links, one is South and One is Mid Lake.
