Which lake, or lakes, if you had an all expense paid trip to use, would you go to for QUALITY crappie. I'm talking about 3lb+. Which lake do you feel would give you the best chance of catching one, or more. Here in the state of Texas only. I have a chance to go where ever I want for a crappie trip, with whatever guide service I want to use, anywhere in the state. I can fish my area lakes and catch all the 2lb and under that I can muster, but what I really want to do is go after that " wall hanger ", and want to know what lake ya'll would go to.

Lop
Put some more money in the deal and go to Grenada Lake or Arkabutla in Mississippi.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Been to both. Don't like the crowds at LOP. I didn't think there was any water up in Huxley Bay with the lake being low like all the others here in Texas. What time of year? I will be doing this trip during the week, and 1 lake that I've already decided on is Palenstine.
To bad you ruled out Arkansas. Theres's a small state park in Star City with a lake that has trophy crappie..........
mine
IMHO,
there is no lake in Texas that kicks out 3 lb fish with regularity or in any #'s. That I am aware of. Are there 3 lb crappie in Palestine ? YES , are there a lot ? NO
I have fished the lake for close to 30 years, 2.75 is as close as I have come. Only about half my fishing is for
crappie , I am by no means an expert.
Good luck

Hey Guys------I need a jig man advice----Who knows what is the color used at Wright Patman----Is their favorite jig type and color or is it just try all and see.
Many guys use jig poles or cast with rod & reel.
Today I saw a fisherman fishing a trench line in the lake and was catching them as fast as he threw his line in. I know he was using a jig---I never saw him put a minnow on his line.
I need to get better at jig fishing---Minnows are a bummer in the summer time.
Jigs is no problem---I have bought many, many.
I guess I need to narrow the jigs down to a few instead of a hundred.
Thanks in advance for any help.
