Cabin fever got to me yesterday so I decided to try the boat/motor out. First time out since before deer season. Longlined tubes and twister tails along the main channel. Found two LARGE concentrations of fish. Cleaned 15 of the nicer ones but none over 11". Threw back ones less than 8". Caught probably 20 bass, largest being 1.5lb, mostly dinks though. Fished from 11 till about 3 when the gust blew me off the water. It was a beautiful day.

Thanks, I mostly fish Cedar and Sycamore. I waffle on which one I like best. Yes, mostly favoring the west side of the channel and mostly in the middle, not so much near the power lines or dam.
I have fished Redbud but the channel is 'snakier' and hard to stay on when longlining. Also seemed much busier.
Hey yall,i live in Darden.I am kinda new to crappie fishing (i mostly bass fish).Me and wife fish together most the time and we do pretty good.I would like meet some of you guys sometime and maybe get together and go fishing. We own Eastside Tobacco in Lexington. Thanks Tommy
Tommy,
I fish either Cedar or Sycamore at least one day on almost every weekend that the weather and wind allow. This is about every one unless the wind is above 20mph and/or POURING down rain. I will post here or send you a PM on my plans if possible. Many times it is a spur of the moment thing since either of these lakes is within 20 mins from home. I drive a green Explorer pulling a galvanized trailer. I fish out of a faded green aluminum Duracraft boat with a 90hp Yama motor. I ALMOST exclusively longline and have an obnoxious looking aluminium rod holder across the back. If you seem me come by, heck I'll talk to anyone and may have discovered a pattern I WILL share.

Jamey, thanks for your reply.Me and wifey fish down at gumdale and catch some nice crappie most the time before the water gets to low.If you want oto catch some slabs in the next few weeks let me know ,i know where we will be able to catch some hogs and dont need a boat but can use one if you like.Tommy
Wow. Small world. Use to fish Cedar, Sycamore, & lived just a few miles from Redbud & Pin Oak. Have a place now on river @ Fisher's Landing. Love the river. Who's the crappie catcher from Darden? I grew up just across Beech River Bottom in Middleburg.
