Default Fishing with my dad this weekend - nervous

My parents are coming to visit me this weekend and I am planning to do some fishing with my dad on Saturday. I am certainly looking forward to spending time with him, but I'm also a little nervous because my dad is the one who taught me how to fish and I want to make sure that I can put him on some. I could care less about getting skunked if I was taking a buddy fishing, but I always want to impress ole dad. I haven't been able to fish for a couple weeks because my motor has been in the shop (just got it back this morning). So I haven't been able to consitently pattern the fish as I would have liked. He and I are old school when it comes to crappie fishing - long pole jigging or minnows/jigs under a bobber - so trolling is out. We'll be fishing above Fate Sanders, so I guess I am going to look for them first in about 10-15 foot range then move shallower/deeper if needed. If the spawn has ended and if they have moved out of the post-spawn staging areas on Priest like I have heard people talking about it might be time to try out some of the deeper brush piles I sunk back in January. We'll see. Wish us luck out there. Sorry about the long post, just thinking this through.

Hey lots of luck impressing your dad this weekend. If you find the fish Saturday me and Thrillseeker might need some help.Think me and him is going to be taking Easter Seal kids out of the YMCA camp around noon. Was really looking forward to it till I bent the shaft on my trolling motor and now it is hard to turn with the foot control.I backed the bearing off the shaft where they meet together and that helped some. But we hope to get the kids on the fish so they can have a big time.

    Black Crow,
I'm going to head out that way on Friday if I find out anything worth passing on I'll let you know. I more worried about these storms today shaking them up again like last week.

Ha ha, thanks for the encouragement guys. My mom has now decided that she would like to come with us, so this could get interesting quick :D. If any of you are on Priest anytime on Saturday and see two guys with a lady in a wide-brimmed hat in a crowded jon boat, give us a wave.

quackermasher - Please pass along any good news you have after your trip tomorrow. I'll be praying the weather treats you favorably.

What end of the lake you going to be on?Think me and Thrill going to leaving out of the YMCA camp area.We seen a couple last week on the lower end of the lake in a narrow john boat and all the bigger boats was zooming by them.I told Thrill look at the brave soles but all I could see is them bigger boats tipping the little john over and we was ready to run to the rescue in case they needed anything but they didnt.Be careful and keep an eye out for us.In a blue bass tracker with a 90 merc on it.

That's you guys in that blue boat?!?! Ha, do you put in at Fate Sanders sometimes? If so, I think I know your boat :D. I've seen a blue bass tracker on the ramp there a couple times. I'll introduce myself next time I see you guys.

As for your question as to where I will be fishing - I spend 85% of my time fishing around Fate Sanders. I stick around Spring, Stewart, and Fall Creek, and I hang around that big island off the channel there quite a bit. The other 15% of my time I spend right outside of the Four Corners Marina. So it looks like I'll be on the other end of the lake this weekend.

You guys be carefull out there too. I think it is awesome that you and Thrillseeker are taking those kids out. They will never forget the time they have out there.
