Got on the water around 0800 hrs (boat ramp temp was 67). Went bass fishin for the 1st hour. Caught about 6 on top water plugs (zara spook and buzzbait). One bass went about 3.5 lbs, the rest were dinks.
Threw RoadRunner (chart/red) for crappie. Caught over 20 and kept 8. They were scattered all over the place...some in shallow water at 3-5 ft (temps up to 74) and some I caught in 8-12 ft of water about 6-8 ft deep. I headed to the house at 1530 hrs. All 8 were females still had eggs and they were almost "white" egg sacks with a very slight yellow tint. Does anyone know what that color means? I was told years ago that not all specks spawn each year and when they don't spawn they will not release their eggs...maybe this is was I caught today. Any biologists out there? All-n-all it was a beautiful day on the water...you can't beat it! Tight Lines!

Good catchin.
It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
