You guys it was fun fishing the new moon. Its wnen i like to go for the bigger males.
In previous threads I mention the full moon of may. Thats when i will usually catch greater #'s (1 cooler was recent catches of crappie fillets.) The other cooler was the 3 day catch of brim (blue gills). ON the way raceing down devils race track I stopped to tell 1 boat what to do and how and what i was doing to catch a few! They had said thay have not caught anything with a frown and were fishing in the pads. I stopped at one more baot to ask them also( all rentals) told them the same! I have the time to do it prob. more then they do so it made me feel good to at least try to help them out to have a better day! They packed up and headed out. To the trees it was!! Hope they did good! Every day i stay on the lake i allways run up to the upper end to get a report and for a three day package had met a couple that hit it hard with a guide and about every day they came in they had 12 to 15 nice crappie and to finnish the day they would catch afew gills with thier guide. He held up a nice pound brim to show me and they were tickled. thats great. MR clark was his name. I met him and he was as kind as one could be! I will quit raddleing now but have found for 200.00$ A fish scaller there's not many for sale but when i asked a fellar fisher man how he likes it he described it to me and i've been researching them some and i will no doubt get one. Cabbelas he said is were he got it. But will have to check out gander and BPS thier closer!

    REPORT

Fished today, this afternoon from about 4:30 to 5:30. I was going to fish hard till dark but the wind came out of nowhere. Landed 14 nice crappie in a short time. It was as Yankee would say "hammer time" Caught about 20, some small, but the 14 I had 3 10 or 11 inch fish and 5 go 1lb +.

Also fished along side antoehr guy that had been there for a few hours and he got his limit while I was there and left. He was catching bigger ones than me!

    The low down.......

fished 3ft deep over 6ft of water. Jigs tipped with a minnow. Moving a bit faster than usual. I learned that from the guy fishing next to me. I was fishing slow and doing decent for about 20 minutes, but the bite was light! Speed up, and they hit it harder!

Crappie are still being caught. And those big gills are certainly being caught too! Also. i caught a few catfish, which I released today, and had 2 on that were VERY big. Probably 10lb or so, Monsters that straightened out the hook!

    God luck!
