With hopes the wind would lay down long enough to let me try some of my new trolling info, I headed to Woods early. The wind hadn't gotten my request and was blowin pretty good. Tried a popular flat and got a couple, but boat control was just too tough and I went to hide from it.Trolled cranks and Crappie thunder RRs. The bank dropped off quick so I set a pace and stayed close to the bank, looking to stay in about 15' of water. Caught 3 good size crappie, and a mixed bag of stripe, cats, bluegill and sun perch, and bass. At one point I was throwing a jig at the weedline as I passed, and caught a smallie that wasn't as long as my hand is wide. They truly have an attitude! Finished off the day at the honey hole putting 10 more good crappie in the cooler and headed for home at 1. Glad I didn't wait for Sunday. Aside from being Mothers Day, the wind is 20 to 30 with 40mph gusts. My beercan would be surfing the whitecaps. Hope y'all had a good weekend.
