Default Reelfoot 'gill report, going back monday!

    Went sunday through tuesday.

Found good numbers of 'gills in the trees. Black grizzly jig, waxworm, fished under small bobber within 6" of the tree. Last day, we fished the pads and it looks like they are just getting ready to start fanning the beds. We caught 35 tuesday, some of the biggest ones I have ever seen. We caught them vertical jigging, no bobber. My buddy fishing hi-vis line beat me 3-1 because he could see his line better and caught them when they hit on the fall. We left early when they were hitting big time! We just had enough fish and figured if we stayed, we were only hurting ourselves by having to clean more fish and getting back later than we really had to. It was tough to do, but it felt good that we had so much self control:rolleyes:

I'm heading back monday, fishing out of Kirby. If anybody has any tips, I would appreciate it!

yep...it's hard to leave when they're a bitten. Good use of self control! Kinda like "one more cast" especially if you nail one on that last cast and still head to the ramp. Tight Lines!

I just got back from the foot. fished one day and evening of another, with my son, had 82 gills. fished the grass on banks, used crickets and slip float but had best luck on wax worms with spring float and no sinker. worm just sort of floated down and worked fine.
