Heck yeah you'll see some snakes. West Tennessee is loaded down with some of the fattest congos around. My granddad had a few fall in the boat with him down in the Hatchie Bottom. Something about Cypress trees and snakes.

First things frist... I am from Indiana, we have been coming down and fishin the 2nd week of May for 15 years. I like nothing less in this world than snakes.Hate them. Have seen more snakes down there than I can count. Like most of the guys have said, just give them the space they want ,look in the trees before you go under them, and above all stay alert and all should be fine.Remember your playin in their back yard and don't try to beat'em with your pole.lol
take a friend that will suck the poison out no matter where you get bit!!!
Love the hatchie. Lived in lil town of denmark leighton lets just say round mercer. Loved to limb line it. While learnen some bout them cherokee bass! snakes were just a part of every day liven like i soon learned about the mcnarey countey boyz!
Fine waters there

I've got "friends" that would let me die if I got bit on my shoulder blade rather than suck the poison out....much less anyplace else! Then again, I'd probably rather die that to let any of my friends put their mouth on my shoulder blade....or anyplace else!!! *LOL*:cool:
