Old Hickory Report - 03/17
Well, as promised, here is the report from Old Hickory. Due to time constraints, I only fished from 7am-11am in Cedar Creek. Didn't catch any Crappie, but I caught a few largemouth :D.
Began the day fishing the docks around the deeper water throwing a white road runner with fluroescent orange head. Seemed to be the best combo to get any fish reaction. I caught 3 baby largemouth and 1 keeper largemouth. Also caught a few skipjack
.
I believe the fish were holding in deeper water today, but the wind started to pick up pretty early, and my little rig isn't equipped to handle that yet so I just continued fishing the docks and any structure I could find in 8-10 ft. of water that was out of the wind. Anyways, the water surface temp. was 49 deg. near the main channel and 51 deg. back in the shallower water.
Probably will try again next Monday, but for the first trip out, I was glad that the motor cranked and the boat didn't leak :D. Look forward to hearing from some of you guys on how you are doing on Ole Hickory.

Thanks Jalopy = I was wondering what OH was doing? Got started on some maintenance for our boat. Have to fix Live well pump so the fishies I catch will live a little longer:D but I have it replaced in no time and be out there with ya

Sounds like you had a good day on the water .
Old Hickory tends to run a few degrees cooler than the other lakes , unless you fish around the Gallatin steam plant . That's normally a late winter - early spring hot spot for multi species .
