I haven't posted in awhile and I've had a lot going on in my personal life recently that's kept me off the water. My sister called me yesterday and asked if we could continue her 'crappie education' and I decided that it would be good to get back on the water to get my mind off of things.

We met at the 58 ramp on the Hiwassee this morning about 930a and set out. Water temp was still a frigid 48* but - surprisingly - the water barely had a stain on it from yesterday's rain. Hit the first spot, a creek mouth at the main lake channel in about 12' of water, and immediately started catching shorts. Water was dead-still (pretty sure the water NEVER moves anymore on the Hiwassee, WHICH I HATE). All in all, we boated probably 20 fish with only 3 keepers.

Next 2 spots were nearly identical. Tons of shorts and a few trashy green fish. Ended up with a grand total of 5 fish in the livewell (ditch-pickles were not invited), which we ended up letting go before trailering the boat.

....and only 1 of those WAS MINE.

....WHO GOT EDUCATED?
