Great morning 8/4/23

I took my friend Hippy Dave fishing early this morning and we had a great crappie catching time. The fish were actively feeding up on a flat adjacent to deep water and we did a whack job on them. Hippy is my good luck fishing buddy.

We had a limit of very nice keepers by 6:50 and Hippy is going to have a fish fry this weekend. Lolol. We fished until 8:35 but only had 3 more big keepers. The pattern has been that the fish bite really well while it is dark and when it gets light, they shut their mouths.

The cool nights and rain that we got has cooled the lake off 4 degrees down to 82. That helped the bite I believe. Main river flow was 20K cfs. The hot bait was a surprising Bobby Garland baby Shad in Full Moon color. Slow rolled the jig with slight pauses and palsy twitches.
