    Default Chickamauga summer crappie 7/27/23

Gary Fomby aka Biofisher and I had a great early morning of crappie fishing. We had a 15 fish limit by 8:15 and added 2 others before it got too hot to fish. Bonus fish were Spotted bass, Rock bass, and a lone bluegill.

The fish were shallow, less than 10’ while it was dark but once the sun came up we had to fish deep. Blue Thunder 3/32 oz was the hot bait today. We fished about 5 miles or so in the main river. We had 5 stops and caught keepers at each spot. Many in the 12-13” range and only 2 short crappie all morning.
