I got a late start today and had to fish alone, but I sure had fun. I caught a ton of short fish today. Chickamauga is blessed with a bunch of 7-9” fish and big crappie are sort of hard to com by for now but it will get better.

I fished brush and docks in sandy brown water in the creek and ended up with 11 keepers, one yellow bass, one short lm bass, one Drum and one skipjack. I had close to 50 shorts to go along with the keepers so I was happy.

Lights Out slab slayer on 3/32 oz jig did a number on the fish. They were pretty aggressive at one point in my trip. Catching them on several consecutive casts is always fun. I was fishing mostly 20-25 feet of water and slow rolling the jig using a new 6 lb test camo braid with a 6 lb test mono leader. Very sensitive.

I just realized that I didn’t take any pics of the big crappie that I caught. I was too busy to stop and take pics. Grin.
