I could almost copy and paste my report from last Saturday. Starting out fishing for bass early, landed a giant 9.48lber and then got on some monster crappie. The biggest crappie was just a hair over 16 inches and weighed 2.60lbs. It was fat and spitting up minnows. We only landed 10 crappie in about 2 hours, one short and the rest were over 12 and 3 over 14inches. All were caught on a 1/8 ounce lite wire hook using a 3 inch gulp minnow. The big crappie seem to like the bigger bait. I think we could have caught a lot more by downsizing some. Off the water by 10:00 am went home cleaned some fish, took a nap and then went back out just before dark with the wife and had some fresh fish on the shore. Beautiful sunset.
