Better-late-than-never report: M GO BLUE and the OL' MAN, Hiwassee River
Haven't been on here (or fishin') in a while, big projects at work + the building project at our new place has had me completely tied up. Was able to get out of the plant at a decent hour last Wednesday.
The OL' MAN (not Dad, just the OL' MAN, senior technician at the plant) wrapped it up and his retirement kicked in to full swing, had to get him on the river 1 last time before he moved back to his hometown. He was wanting to take some fillets home with him when he went and I thought that was a great way to send him off. Congrats to him!

Was able to put-in around 430pm and, as has been usual lately, was hotter than the face of the sun, but was also one of those evenings when we couldn't do much wrong. Water wasn't moving too much and the wind was negligible.
Fished the same pattern we had all summer: dead-sticking BG shad on 1/16th heads in 18-26ft of water, over structure. Color didn't matter at all, pretty sure they'd have hit a cigarette butt if we could've got it down there. Fish were glued to the bottom, but very receptive. Caught well over 60 fish in 3hrs, nothing allowed in the livewell under 10-3/4"...didn't have any big fish but several brushing the 13" line. I told the OL' MAN I didn't want to be up to 10pm cleaning fish, so we'd not bring any more than a single limit. My count was off by 1

Had a good, last (for now) trip with the OL' MAN and sent him home with a cooler-full. Now it's time to get my Dad on the water.
