Hot cool morning for crappie 6/18/19
My good friend Gary Fomby, aka Biofisher, and I made a very quick morning trip in order to beat the rain and storms that were coming in. We were successful and I made it home and put the boat in basement 35 minutes before the first raindrops fell at 9:07. Lolol.
Willow flies were everywhere and the fish were filling their bellies with them I’m sure. In our two hour trip, we landed 16 keeper crappie and 4 keeper bass for Gary’s freezer. We were watching the radar on our cell phones and since we had a limit of crappie for Gary, we decided to go ahead and put the boat on the trailer. We noticed that the rain was less than an hour away. Perfect timing.
Water temp this am was 79.9 and flow was 13,700 then increased after the first hour to 22,000 cfs. Silverfish Minnow Minders by Bobby Garland was the hot color but Blue Ice, Black Widow we’re other colors that worked.
