Thread: Son's First Crappie

My kiddo and I did a couple-hour father-son trip on Percy Priest yesterday afternoon. He just turned 3 and has been practicing casting, but doesn't have it down consistently yet. But he can reel like a champ, so we went trolling. Only caught two, but they were solid 12 inchers and he reeled them both in by himself. He was so proud and excited. Had to check on them in the livewell every 5 minutes, of course. We also hooked into a good flathead, but I handled that one (he was happy to help with the net). We weren't even home before he was asking about going back to the lake. Hopefully the first of many, many trips with my boy.
