Fall kayak fishing on reelfoot

Wife and I are trying to plan a fall fishing trip to reelfoot, with being 17 years since was able to return and we also love our kayak fishing does anyone have any tips to what area would be good starting point sometime late September early October time frame. Thanks in advance for all responses. Also opinions on best places to stay.
