Let’s go fishing. 7/24/2018

I love early morning fishing trips in the summer time. I love to catch fish and be off the water by ten thirtyish. That is what Phil and I did today.

It was a pretty good day but not as good as our last two trips. We had 11 keepers (13 3/8”), and Mr S gave me a Blue catfish that was 5 lbs and one keeper crappie. Thanks, LeBron for the slimer.

Deep brush, a roadbed and one off shore spot gave up the keepers. We had several short crappie too and the bonus fish today was a 13.5” trashy green fish aka, Largemouth bass. Lolol.

Lights Out slab slayer and Silverfish Minnow Minder caught fish. I told Phil to stay with the hot color while I frequently changed colors to see if the fish were color specific or would hit anything. They wouldn’t hit just any old color. Grin.

We are marking fish everywhere. But most are suspended or rubbing their bellies in the mud. I think that I will catfish for a little while. Richard Simms, are there any spots that you want me to avoid? I need about 6-8 bags of catfish nuggets in the freezer. My daughter in Louisiana loves catfish better than anything and I didn’t have any to take her on our last visit.
