At least it did today! It was a beautiful afternoon, and I had double timed my work so we could get out. Right off the bat, just as the boat cleared the trailer, I saw the plug laying right where I left it after the last trip. Stupid! I got it back on the trailer, pulled it out, and had plenty of time for one more business call while it drained! I honestly think the lake dropped 6 inches based on the amount of water in the boat! Finally got started and ran to our first spot. We always catch a few at this spot, and the quality is usually good. Water temps were 60-62, and I knew this area would be in the shade at this time (4:30). It was shaded, but there was a huge line of floating debris.[ATTACH]300482[/ATTACH
We worked around and through it, and managed a few quality fish.
I normally don’t troll, but we each held a couple of poles and trolled all around this area. It was the only thing that worked! I have not set this latest boat up with rod holders yet. They are all piled up in my boat storage area, as I have not completely decided the best way to mount them yet.
I wish I could say it just kept getting better, but it didn’t. We caught several just under 10”, but never worked out the formula today. One of the creeks was 65 degrees in about 10’ of water, but we only found the dinks. I tried shallow, and even tried a float. I have not caught a single fish in the shallows this year on Loudoun. I don’t know why, because the conditions seem right.? Nevertheless, it sure beat working, and I left the boat hooked up to try again in the morning!![]()
