Back in Black!

A little AC/DC theme for Thursday’s dressed up males! Found em in a spot where I found em about this time last year. Main channel, on a bluff, protected by a big ol dock! I had to channel my inner contortionist to get it where I wanted it, but when I did, BAM! Two small stick ups, and there must have been something special below the surface, cause these dressed up dudes were definitely there for a little something-something! All of em were white crappie that were attending this particular party, don’t know why they didn’t invite their cousins! Water temp was 59-60, sitting in 16 FOW, and casting to I have no idea how deep! I do know if you let it sink more than 4 feet, you got to retie! We invited 8 of these nice fellers home for dinner.
Now, a word about my new to me boat. I love it! However, that trolling motor is possessed! It’s a MG, 36 volt, with digital steering. Is there a trick to this thing? I mash the pedal, it turns slightly, I mash further, and it overshoots! Bottom line, I ain’t controlling it very well! The power is less than my old 40 lb., so I took some batteries in for testing, and two show bad. So two new batteries (that match one I had just purchased) and gonna try it again. I see an Xi5 in my future! I have Lowrance electronics, so MG just seems to be the way to go if I am gonna use Autopilot.
The dogwoods are blooming, and you know what the old timers say about that and the crappie spawn! I think all of those dressed up males confirms this theory. I think it’s starting! Let’s give love a chance!!

Those are some nice looking fish. Weather and prior commitments have me off the water for a few days but I sure do enjoy looking at the TN Crappie that others catch and post here on the site!
