Finally, Mother Nature is winning the tug of war with Winter and signs of Spring are more than just a number on the calendar. Cherokee Lake is filling up, warming up, and the fish are on the move! Went Tuesday evening after work with 2 dozen minnows and hopes of finding a few for supper on Wednesday. The spider rig poles were still loaded, and with water temperatures still in the 50’s, I soon hooked up with some more pre spawn Crappie, suspended 10ft over 21-25ft water.

Final total 16 with an even dozen making their way back to the fillet board. Mixed bag of Black and Whites and about even M/F ratio. Eggs are starting to darken/ bloody/swell up so it won’t be long now.
