Thread: Old Hickory Lake

I posted a few days ago looking for info on Old Hickory. Was hoping to get a little info from my C.C brothers. We are going to fish a tournament on the 23rd and 24th. More for fun and quality time with my grandson. Went down yesterday and drove around the lake. The water was a little muddy and had some trash in it. The wind wasn't as cooperative as it could have been, but was bearable for a scouting expedition. Temps averaged about 55 both air and water. We scanned and marked lots of structure and kinda got the lay of the land. We caught 2 crappie cold fishing which isn't the best, but plan to make another trip to re visit the areas we learned.

The folks we met were nice people. I bet some were C.C members. Met one guy down there and made a new fishing friend. He gave us much more info than we asked for and even pointed out some specific places to fish. I think I will smoke a shoulder and take him some home made BBQ sauce. He occasionally comes up to fish KY lake so I plan to return the favor. All in all a great day. The Lord blessed us with much more than we asked for.

Where is the tournament coming from? I know of some spots on the lower end, about a mile from the dam that I could give you but don’t know much else.
