Tennessee Valley Authority has decided to drop our area lakes in anticipation of future Spring rains, which are forecast for the next two days yet again. Last week I found some nice fish in stained 60 degree water about 8ft deep. Using Slab Sauce for the first time proved successful and gave me the confidence to try it again this afternoon. Falling and clearing water made things more challenging but after a liberal application of the Sauce my first cast to some shallow brush produced a fat Spotted Bass. I threw him in the box and slowly added a few more nice slabs before dark, enough for supper tomorrow night.

When I cleaned the fat Spot I found a crawfish and a decent sized rock in his gullet!

I do not know how he could have still been hungry after that meal but I have to think the freshly applied Slab Sauce and maybe a little instinct made him bite my jig. That stuff is awesome, stays on after multiple casts and works on multiple species. Give it a shot if you haven’t already!
