This time (as mentioned) of the year in West Sandy, I start shallow in the morning and move deeper till I find where the fish. When moving deeper, I usually slow push jigs and minners and cast road runners for search both sides of the boat. If fish hit at a certain area, I just usually circle back and make a couple passes in that area. No mo bites, continue the hunt. Simple and effective.

its a great area, I just haven't fished it much, normally start at the mouth, but go north toward power lines.
Mid June I usually venture out to Big Sandy and troll cranks toward the power line. I also crank the flats out from Swamp Creek up to Mansard Island. Sometimes I get lucky.

I'd like to see some pictures of your favorite crankbaits and Plastics that work good down around there
I'm just starting at this, still learning. I have started with combinations of chartreuse, black, red, and sometimes blue and pink. This is true of both my plastics and cranks.
Canepole, Mrdux, both fish this type water (Kentucky Lake), and can guide you much better.
i do use more shad, cray colors when / if our water clears, but 90% of the time, our water has color / mud. Again, others, more experience, know better.
I decided to stay at Pleasant View. I will be there from 4/26 to 5/5. I look forward to a week of crappie fishing. Any help or info is appreciated. JC
That time frame should be great for fishing because the April full moon is then. The bull redear will be nibbling a bit by then, too.
What water depths are in that area? I have a lot of shallow diving cranks (3' - 5'). And mostly 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs. I'm a long line troller. What else would you guys have with you?
