Default Chickamauga Lake Crappie Report: 02/01/2017

Dr Phil and I got out in the boat for a couple of hours. We had a couple of Christmas tree crappie hotels to sink and then we fished for a little while. Wind was stronger than we like to fish, but we did manage to catch 4 keepers with the largest one being 13.5" White crappie. All fish were released. Phil fished with Bass Assassin Pro Tiny shads and I caught the White crappie on a Strike King 2" Shadpoly. We marked a lot of fish in new open water areas, but with the wind being what it was, it was difficult to fish, so we quit early as Phil had afternoon appointments that he had to keep. We were on the water between 10 and 12. All our fish came from an open water structure that had some scattered brush. The fish were scattered and not concentrated on any particular brush pile. Water temp was 50.3 when we stopped at noon.

Scenic City Fishing Charters. Richard Simms is a great guide. Crappie season is beginning to heat up. Monster catches in the last two tournaments held on the Chick. Give Richard a call. But, he may already be booked up solid. He stays busy.
