Fished the Middle TN. club tournament Saturday. Cloudy skies with misting rain at times. Winds were 15-30 Staring temp was 48 finish at 64. Water temp was 46-48. I knew on this day that the winds would be bad but I thought I might be able to get out of them and catch some fish. When we took off the winds were not to bad, maybe 15 or so, so it made getting to the spot pretty easy. I tied off and decided to stay there as I caught my first fish within 5 min. Caught on a minnow 5 ft deep in a tree top. Caught another the same way but both were 9.5 long. The wind was not strong where I was setting and the current was moving against the wind. I thought that was odd. I moved to the other side of the tree and started catching bigger fish but it was real slow. The fish were moving in and out. The humminbirds would go off and I would catch fish then silence and no fish. As long as I was catching fish I was content to stay there. I was looking out across the lake and it was white capping pretty good with the winds blowing at least a steady 20. I caught about 15 fish but only 6 keepers with a 14 incher in the well. At about 11:30 or so I heard a big wind coming and the white caps were getting closer to me. The fish just moved out and that was it. The wind never came my way and settled back down to about 15 after that. Decided to go looking for them the last 1 and a half but never caught up with the fish again. Most reported the same. Over with by noon. I seen 4 otters this day. I tried to take a pic of them but they just kept disappearing on me when I held up my phone. Check out Middle Tn club site for winners and pics.

We had a makeup tournament at Normandy on the tenth but I did not catch a single crappie all day. There were some very good catch's that day. I just swung and missed for sure.
