I caught more spider rigging last winter than jigging trees in the spring but it was kinda odd spring weather. Wind is a bigger issue than temperature for most of the winter; I only go if the wind is 10 mph or less. Send me a private message and I give you a guide's phone number if you want. Unless you are bringing a boat setup for spider rigging and don't mind hitting stumps a guide is the only way to do much good.

I'm not sure about Cypress Point anymore, but I am positive Blue Bank is a good place to stay.....and eat. I did exactly the opposite of Grump1, caught all mine jigging trees. There's a report from me somewhere on here from last spring.

I'd shoot for sometime in March if your looking for a particular time. Spider rigging would be the preferred method using minnow and jigs tipped with minnows. If your looking to hire a guide instead look up Sandage guide service on FB. If your set up to spider rig bring some drift socks and a couple chains. Good luck and check back in on here closer to time. Also Cypress point is a fine place to stay so is Blue bank.

Here's what I got. Stay at Blue Bank or Cypress point if you require the nicer accommodations at the lake. If your just needing a place to sleep and shower and will be spending most your time fishing I'd recommend Reelfoot Lake Inn. As far as crappie fishing I'd have to say mid February to mid March are my favorite for catching and spider rigging.
