I had a very brief 2 hour fishing trip alone today. I fished 11 til 1:00 PM. I didn't want to stop fishing, but had to leave so that I would have time to clean these fish and get ready for my grandson's 13th birthday dinner tonight at Cheddar's.
I caught 9 keeper crappie that were on two off shore brush piles and 4 yellow bass. I don't think that I caught a single short crappie today. Two of the crappie were white crappie. They ranged from 10.5" to 12". I was using both Bass Assassin Pro Tiny lures and BG shads in the 2" size fished on 1/16 oz jig heads mostly painted orange. 3 different colors worked.
I was using a 7 count before beginning my very slow retrieve. A subtle palsy twitch every few seconds caused a few reaction bites as the fish were a little reluctant to bite. Aggressive twitches didn't work today. All bites were visual bites today. No thumps, no bumps, nor even a hump. Grin. Water temp was 66 degrees in Harrison Bay today. No wind. I love to fish when it is calm. I left the fish biting.

" I go fishing not to find myself but to lose myself ".
It was a beautiful day. Nice fish. Glad you were able to enjoy a day on the water before the weather changes.
Life is good. Fishing is better.
A fun short trip

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there is no one out to get you
The short trips can be real good, that's proof. Good job.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Wish I lived close enough to the lake to make a couple hour trip. Good report.
