Default Report: Chickamauga Lake Crappie 11/23/2016 morning report

I was playing on the computer early this AM when my friend Bassert called me and asked if I was fishing today. I told him that I was on the computer and asked if this was an invitation to fish with him in his boat. He said yes. He was at the Tyner Lane ramp. So, about 15 minutes later, after scrambling to get everything together to go our for a few hours, he picked me up and off to crappie fishing we went.

We hit vertical structures, submerged brush and stumps and really got on the fish this AM. We landed 21 keepers. The biggest was a beautiful 14" TARP black crappie that I released to grow up to be a big boy. The others went to feed the hungry children. I have grandkids that love to eat fish. LOL

My Bass Assassin Pro Tiny Shads were on fire today. Pat was fishing a different brand of plastic and although he caught a few fish, it was evident that I had either the right color combo, or the right palsy twitch because I wore the fish out while he was being a really good guide and controlled the boat great. Thank you, Pat.

1/16 oz jig heads with Florescence Glow was the magic color today. I did try and catch fish on S&P Phantom/chartreuse tail BA Pro Tiny Shads. That is all that I fished with. No experimenting with other profiles or colors. Pat did a little bait changing to see what they would or would not bite.

On the way back to the ramp, we noticed that the birds were circling and diving in Waconda Bay, so we stopped to throw spoons to see what might be chasing. We ended up fishing for about 45 minutes. Pat hooked up a big Striper shortly after we started fishing and we chased the fish with the trolling motor, but it was so big that it finally broke his line. I landed a boat paddle sized White bass and a couple of yellow bass. We also hooked 2 Drum (Alabama Smallmouth), and one Blue catfish. I may go back out this afternoon if I get in a good nap. I have fish to clean and errands to do, so I don't know for sure.

Thank you, Pat for taking the old Drumking fishing today. He will repay you.

I enjoyed this day a little more than others as DK was happy and successful
Oh I did catch a few to keep happy myself

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there is no one out to get you

Pat is a really great fisherman and it is rare when I have the advantage over him. Today was my lucky day. Grin. Oh, and BTW, I had the lure name wrong. It is Limetreuse Glow and not Florescence Glow. I don't know where I came up with that idea. Must be because I'm a slow learner and fast forgetter. LOL

Those poor fish did not stand a chance with you two after them!
Pats wearing a jacket, that means he will be heading to Florida soon!
