Report: Chickamauga Lake crappie 10/28/2016

I only had a very short time to fish today and it was very late morning when I got out. I fished from 11:15 until 12:51. Had to take my honey to her physical therapy appointment, but the catching was really good for the short 1 hr 36 minutes.

4 keeper crappie, 1/2 dozen shorts, 1 spotted bass, and 3 blue catfish. I have the keepers on ice for the freezer. Grin. I just fished vertical structure that is very near the boat ramp that I use for short trips. I only live 0.7 mile from the ramp. Very convenient.

Most of my fish came on BG Baby Shads in the 2" size, but I also caught some fish on Bass Assassin Pro Tiny 2" Shads in Limetreuse Glow, S&P Phantom. I caught a couple of fish on Blue Ghost. All on 1/16" jig heads and fish were about 15 feet deep mostly. It was sunny today, but the fish were in the shade of the structure that I was fishing. I believe that I improved on presentation today for this type of structure. When you are fishing alone, then you can try different stuff and have no pressure to put your partner on fish. I learned a lot.
