I thought I was just about finished with night stalking for the year but that itch just has not left me yet. Combined with the urge for a road trip, I decided it was about time to venture on down south to the ever "extremely" popular Chickamauga Lake. The one with huge bass, grass, and black crappie to catch. Of course I never fish for the bass.
After considering a few different options for the evening, I headed out to revisit a location which had been productive in the past during the night. I had my fingers crossed since my last few trips to chick had left me with a frowny face. I was delighted though to see my rod load up on the first cast, second cast, third cast. OK it was time to put the i-pilot spot lock on anchor and set for a spell.
The fish started to wise up pretty quickly with their buddies disappearing so the bite diminished as fast as it started. Knowing the fish were there, it was time for persuasion mode. Change color, Change jig weight, Change casting angle, Change cadence. All of these tactics were good for producing another strike but I am often guilty of not doing these things before moving on. Tonight I had the patience to do so.

Most of my fish came off of this one location but actually only moved a short distance away to finish off the limit so no more frowny face for me. I did have a CFF buddy stop by and chat for a while while night stalking and it was good to hear he had gotten on some fish just as I was getting off the water. Me I needed some caffeine for the long trip back home.
