Candi and I got out for a 2.5-3 hour boat ride and crappie fishing trip. Her mind wasn't into the fishing today. Grin. She is still rehabbing her shoulder from the surgery a few weeks ago, so she wasn't fishing too seriously.
I on the other hand, was chunking and winding. (Slowly and deep) LOL None of the solunar tables were favorable during the time that we were out fishing, so we had a slow day. Caught a few short crappie, nothing over 11" and 2 yellow bass and 1 spotted bass.
Panfish Assassins in the 2" size, Monkey Milk with chartreurse tail, Limetreuse, and S&P Phantom with chartreuse tails were the colors that we tried early. I did catch the first fish on a Patriot. We used 1/16 oz jig heads on 4 lb test line. We fished vertical structure, off shore structure and a couple of docks. We caught at least one fish off every structure.
Thanks for going with me this morning, Candi. I hope that you get completely well from the surgery. I'm really looking forward to the benefit crappie tournament for the disabled. "Crappie for Canines" is a worthy cause and I encourage all fishermen, crappie and bass, to come fish this and support this noble cause. The tournament will be held on Chickamauga Lake and weigh in at Island Cove Marina on September 18th. I believe the tournament hours are from 7:30 til 3:00. Someone correct me if I"m wrong.
