got a buddy who moved to nashville about a yr ago and a few of us are going over to visit and do a little fishing this wkend. we will prob try pulling cranks. just looking for some general advice about the lake and fish behavior. my friend has fished it several times and had some decent success. not looking for any specifics just areas we maybe should target as far as structure, brush, ledges etc... also if anyone has much luck pulling cranks here. any advice is appreciated

Last Saturday I went to mid lake and long lined hot grubs in Pink/chart and black chart, had a 1/32 oz top and 1/16 oz bottom double jig rig and trolled at .8 mph in 12 to 14 fow. That was from 6:00 to 8:00, the bite slowed so I put cranks (350 Arkie/300 Bandit) on and trolled at 1.2 mph staying in the 20 fow range. Best color Arkie black shiner and Chart front with black tail, had a pink Bandit that caught several also. Packed up at 10;30 with 13 nice keepers, 2 went over 14" rest were 12" plus, caught maybe a dozen short fish.

    Good luck

Your buddy will know this, but the water is still low, so stay out and watch your depth closely. I'm sure he will be glad his friends came to visit even if you don't load the boat with fish. Fishing is just part of friendship ( a good part ) :-)
