Candi Burrows and I had another stellar morning at Watts Bar dam in our quest for Striped Bass. She caught the most, but I caught the biggest. Grin.
We hooked up about 15 fish total, but only landed 8 of them. Candi had her braided line broken twice on big fish while we were trying to run them down. Just too big for 15 lb test braid. She also had 4 or more pull off after a short fight.
I only landed 3, but caught the first one (and smallest), but did land a 22 lb 4 ozs and a 22.0 lb Striped bass and had 3 more pull off before we could get to them.
TVA has been running one turbine for it seems like forever, so we had to use 1 oz shad head jigs and a 3.5" plastic trailer. Water temp this AM was 65 degrees and we also had about 7 Drum aka Alabama Smallmouth, come over the side of our boat. I'm still Drumking with an 18 lb 8 oz pig. Grin. I think that we also caught about 4 white bass. All white bass and all the stripers but 2 were released. We tried to release all, but two of the big Stripers could not be revived. So, they are going in the freezer.
