Chickamauga Lake report...3-10-16
Crappie fishing has been great this week on Chickamauga Lake. I've been lucky enough to fish quite a bit. We're catching a lot of crappie around stumps in shallow water. We've also caught an incredible amount of small bass including smallmouth. These fish are fairly small on average...but big on fun. We've probably caught over fifty in four days of fishing - all on crappie jigs. We're using some local jigs called Crappie Dawgs on 1/32 oz. Road Runner jig heads.
My girlfriend Debbie caught some nice crappie Thursday including her personal best black-nose crappie. The black-nose are few and far between on Chickamauga Lake. The largest fish overall was a heavy black crappie. All of the females with eggs were released and we kept a few others for the freezer.
