    Default East Tenn lakes info?

I live just across the line in Boone, nc. Purchased my Tenn license yesterday to try a few lakes up there. Does anyone have any info on the lakes close to me. Probably be Watauga, Boone, and South Holston for the closest. Any good crappie fishing in any of those? Love to have info on Watauga especially. It is only about 40 minutes away. I hear it called the dead sea, but have seen a few postings where people catch nice crappie from it. Thanks for any info on any of the lakes.

    Try Douglas and Cherokee first.

I am going to Cherokee soon especially for the striper fishing. They are about 3 to 3.5 hours away so makes for a long day trip. Wondered if any closer were good crappie lakes. If you were going to pick one or the other, which of the two are better for crappie?

I fish south holston from the bank and have a good time... It offers some pretty good crappie fishing IMO
