Congrats to all the winners! We had two "blanks" yesterday, our first and last!! Always lots of fun. I hate we missed the weigh in, but we encountered some less than experienced boat loaders at the ramp, and it took forever to just get on dry land!

East Tenessee Crappie Club held its February tournament on Chickamauga Lake Saturday February 20th. Twenty teams participated in the tourney. The weather was mild with temperatures near 60 degrees and a gentle southwest wind. Several members of the Chattanooga Crappie Club participated in the tourney which we enjoyed getting to know and sharing ideas about how to promote the clubs and crappie fishing. First place went to Brian Howard and Mike Johnston with 9.72 lbs. Second place and big fish was awarded to Bobby and Tabitha Ramsey with 9.68 lbs. Third place was captured by Chris James and the Smith duo weighing 9.54lbs. Fourth place was the team Neal Alvis and Scott Bunch 9.29 lbs. Matt Xenos and Don Speer had fifth place with a weight of 8.58lbs and won the rods donated by Walley Marshall. The top teams reported catching there fish on docks in 8-10' of water or trolling using planer boards in 5-8' of water. Some very nice bags of fish were caught. Chickamauga Lake never seems to disappoint. Pizza and drinks were provided that everyone seemed to enjoy after the weigh-in.
A drawing was held for the crappie painting provided by Sharon Webb that the club used at the fishing show. Tim Smith won the painting and his son Garrett promptly said it was going in his room.
The next event will be held March 26th at Cherokee Lake at the Boat Launch Road boat ramp.
Crappie USA will be having a tourney on Cherokee Lake April 2nd. The ETCC tourney on the 26th will be a good opportunity to practice the this tournament if you are interested in participating in it. Should you have any questions about the March tourney or the Crappie USA tourney, do not hesitate to contact us and we will answer your questions.

Congrats to everyone. That is some good weights of fish.
Life is good. Fishing is better.
Congrats to all the winners.
Congrats to all the winners
My 7 year old son and I checked out the end of the weigh in and awards ceremony. We were both impressed with the quality of fish brought to the scales. All he can talk about now is "catching some slabs like those crappie tournament guys". I think he needs a new guide because our biggest fish for the day a 13" white crappie was no where near the size it took to place in the top 5. Great job to all entered and the organizers.
We had a great time , chatting with new and old friends, special thanks to Sharon Webb , the painting is absolutely gorgeous, if anyone was thinking about a crappie painting, i would definitely give her a ring because she has a special talent. Thanks to Wally Marshall for donating the rods , and Crappie Magnet for donating the baits for this tournament, it was very much appreciated, and thanks to all the CCC guys for coming out and enjoying a fun day with us, it was great to meet you guys again. JayW, were glad you come out also, please dont hesitate to ask any of these guys any questions you have, there is a wealth of crappie information at these tournaments and these are a great bunch of guys and gals that will gladly help in any way possible. Darren , he took my painting to his room, but he has to sleep sometime, lol
