I'm somewhat new to the crappie scene and was wondering if there are any crappie guides for hire or anyone willing to do some mentoring in the Knoxville area. Although I've fished off and on my whole life, I've only gotten my boat rigged up and been really focusing on crappie for the last two seasons. I do have two young boys, though, so I'm only able to spend a limited time on the lake. Most of what I've done so far and what I'm rigged for is longlining jigs on Douglas (mostly Muddy Creek area) during the Spring. Most everything I do and have learned is from some really knowledgeable buddies I have, but they are all down in AL, and as my dad passed away a few years ago, I've lost my fishing buddy too.

Now, what I'd really like to accomplish is to expand my repertoire a bit so I can put my boys on fish and have some knowledge to pass on to them. Ideally I'd love to find a resource that could help me "learn the ropes" a bit in different areas and times of the year. I've had moderate success the past couple of Spring seasons, but I'm still pretty limited. I've done quite a bit of reading and research, but I need help getting some "lake sense" to put the pieces of the puzzle. Right now, especially, I'd like to learn about how to winter fish.

I'm sure there is no shortage of guys wanting help catching fish, but I thought I'd ask as it does seem this is a community of some really great guys who are willing to help.

Any feedback or help you could provide is really appreciated.

PS I am willing to pay (assuming I can afford it) since I don't know that I have much else to offer. Either way, glad to try to do something in return.
